Urgent Care Clinics: Safety Tips for Whitewater Rafting in Fairbanks

If you’re going to Alaska, you owe it to yourself to try out whitewater rafting. You can enjoy being close to nature while still experiencing one of the most intense and fun activities in the great outdoors.

While you should not be afraid to go rafting down Alaska’s scenic rivers, you should still take extra precautions and ensure that you know how to get to one of nearby urgent care facilities in Fairbanks in case something goes wrong. Because as fun as whitewater rafting is, it can still be really dangerous. There are also a few things you can do that will minimize risks:

Wear a Lifejacket

Whether you’re paddling a canoe, a raft, or a kayak, there is a possibility that your vessel will flip or capsize. And even if you’re an exceptional swimmer, you still need to wear a lifejacket because there are things that can impede your ability to swim, such as cramps or unconsciousness.
